I love the NASA site at www.nasa.gov Here you can sign up for Image of the Day and get the most fantastic images from inner and outer space plus all the latest news For info on many aspects of Particle Physics have a look at http://www.particleadventure.org This is a great educational site. For a fab presentation of the Periodic Table go to http://www.ptable.com/ There are five pages of information. Each covering different properties of the elements I keep the results of my Genealogical Researches on http://www.wikitree.com because this site has no charges, is strong on fact, hard on fiction, and has a great community of genealogists. If you want to co-operate with others this is the site. For taking your genealogical researches back before 1838 http://www.familysearch.org is a must visit site because of it’s vast repository of church and other records. Many records also come into much of the twentieth century and it’s good for knocking down brick walls in your researches. Again this has the advantage that it is a free facility. My thanks here go to Mrs. Phillips genealogy group in Colorado, USA, for flagging up my original broken link on this site. Also suggested by Mrs Phillips genealogy group is http://www.homeadvisor.com/article.show.History-at-Home-A-Guide-to-Genealogy.17370.html which has many useful links to other genealogy research sites. For very good data after 1838 I rely on http://www.genesreunited.co.uk because transcription quality is good and the charging options are flexible. No need to sign up for a year. This site offers good value for money and I have found it’s document transcriptions to be much more accurate than other heavily promoted sites. It is also very good at suggesting matches for your family tree members within their other recorded trees. |
